Class room Assignment

Dear Students (1st yr/2nd yr)

For internal of 25 marks, you have to go through VIVA (10 marks) + Assignment (15 Marks). 

Viva is for individual whereas the assignment is for group.

1. Make a group of 4-5 (Maximum) students 

2. Use thick board and colors to design a beautiful game/ teaching aid /posters etc.

3. ONLY ONE ASSIGNMENT PER GROUP IS ESSENTIAL. ACTIVITIES OF EACH GROUP SHOULD BE DIFFERENT

 

Last date of submission is 15/01/2024

Any group submitting after 15th Jan will not be evaluated.

1. Fraction Disc:- Make a circular disc like clock having some depth. Make different cut-outs as shown here to fit the inner part of the circle to show 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 , 1/5 , 1/6 , 1/8 . 1/9 , 1/10, 1/12. Keep the thickness of the cut out as 4mm (minimum dimension). 

2. Fraction Walls :- In fraction wall take multiple strips of dimension 30cm x 2cm. Divide these strips in 2, 3, 4, 5, -- 12 equal parts and place them on a wall as shown below. the wall should be decorated nicely. 

3. Sierpinski Triangle :- Take an equilateral triangles of size 10cm. Join its mid points to make 4 congruent triangles. Shade /cut out the middle triangles. Join the mid points of 3 remaining triangles and cut-out the middle part or shade it differently. Repeat this activity 7 times and use different colours each time.

4. Fraction Dominoes :- Make a set of 54 dominoes. One one part of it write fraction values and on the other part make a diagram. Both should be different. Arrange them so that a new structure is formed.

5. Mathematical Maze:- Design a mathematical maze for Fraction/ Addition -Subtraction / Algebraic Formula/ Geometry/ Mensuration (ANY TWO)

6. Mathematical Tambola :- Make 1 -25 number cards and use them to make mathematical sign, shapes.

7.  Mathematical Calendar :- Make a calendar that has Mathematicians Birthday in each Month. Minimum 6 Mathematicians birthday per month is compulsory.

8. Game of Nim:- Design Game of Nim and prepare  Nim game with 1 page printed instructions

9. Quadrilateral Family Chart:- Make a quadrilateral family chart highlighting all quadrilateral.

10. Types of Number :- Make a chart paper with thickness of 5mm , highlighting types of Numbers and its definition and examples.  

11. Dots and Boxes games:- Make a board game of dots and boxes. You can make geoboard to play this game. 

12. DESIGN YOUR HOME:- Make Beautiful houses with the help of 8 polygons and one circle.

 

SCREENING TEST FOR MATHEMATICS QUIZ ON 31ST DECEMBER

Dear Participants

All India Ramanujan Math Club is a National organization established in 1993 to popularize mathematics.

The screening test is the first test to select best 6 teams (12 students) for FINAL QUIZ to be held on 31st December.

In the first test you will have to attempt all 30-35 questions of 75 marks that includes-

1. Basic Arithmetic

2. Cryptographic

3. Algebra

4. Trigonometry

5. Geometry

The level of questions is up to STD 10.

Two Students in a group , from one school can appear in a test. Any number of students can write test but the best two with highest score from a school will appear in the Final event.

The time for test is 1 hr.

There is no negative marks.

Final round of 12 students given code A to F will be held on 31st December at 10am. Every team (2 members) will have to play 5 rounds and the best 4 teams will play the remaining 4 rounds.

RAMANUJAN QUIZ DAY -9

 Today is the 9th day of quiz.

As you all aware of the facts that Dr Manmohan Singh has introduced 22nd December to be celebrated as National Mathematics Day. It was he who released a postal stamp on Ramanujan in 2011.

2. The first stamp on Ramanujan was released in the year 1962 by postal department to commemorate the 75th birthyear of Ramanujan.

3. In the year 2016, another stamp on mathematical genius was released.

4. In the year 2012, which was observed as NATIONAL MATHEMATICS YEAR throughout the country, a special postal stamp was released.

 1. Ramanujan was born in Erode in his maternal mother's house. It is unfortunate that this house was discovered in year 2012 by Susumu Sakurai, professor and head, Department of Math, Tokyo University of Science and Technology, and Dr. N. Mani, professor, Government Arts College, Erode, and president, Tamil Nadu Science Forum. 

It took 126 years to trace the house where Ramanujan was born. Unfortunately, it was discovered by a Japanese Professor.

2. Ramanujan was a devotee of Goddess Namagiri. For every discovery of his, Ramanujan gave due credit to the goddess. He wrote - An equation has no meaning for me until it expressed the thought of God. Even before going to England, Ramanujan went to Namakkal to take permission from God.

1. JANKI AMMAL (RAMANUJAN'S WIFE) adopted a son after the death of Ramanujan W Narayanan who took care of Janki till her death.

2. Ramanujan got enrolled in Town High School and for his academic brilliance he got Ranganath Rao Award for securing the highest marks in Mathematics and English

3. Film God, Zero and Infinity has been shot at different places - Kumbakonam. Trinity College and TIFR. In this film an interview with his adopted son was recorded.

16th National Maths Convention 2022

                                       16th National Maths Convention 2022

All India Ramanujan Maths Club in association with Maurya Bandhutva Club Uttarpradesh is going to organize the 16th National Maths Convention 2022 at Pratapgarh (Uttarpradesh) on 16-18th September 2022. 

Awardees of 14th and 15th National Maths Convention will be honoured in the 16th National Maths Convention.

Last Date of Registration = 20 th August 2022

A school can register in maximum 3 events. Each event (Quiz/Puzzle/ Model/ Poem and Essay) can be participated by two students. Maximum 8 students and 1 teacher from one school can register. The organizer will provide all the support at the venue (Boarding/Lodging on sharing basis). Participants have to bear the cost of their own ticketing.

Question on the mathematician that you can check on the blog page itself. In the past we have conducted several quiz on Aryabhata and Ramanujan so get an idea of what type of question will be asked in quiz section.

Level 1 :- Written test through Google Form will be conducted in the first phase. 12 students with maximum correct answer will be selected for Final round.

1st level Exam will be held on 16th September. Only registered students can participate in the exam.

3 D model making - Topic and instruction will be given at the venue. Students have to bring 3-4 A-4 sheet, pencil, scissor, tape, glue with them.

रामानुजन क्लब गुजरात और मौर्य बंधुत्व क्लब उत्तरप्रदेश (भारत) के संयुक्त प्रयास से 16 वा राष्ट्रीय गणित महोत्सव का आयोजन प्रतापगढ़ (उत्तरप्रदेश) में 16 से 18 सितम्बर 2022 को होना तय हुआ है. मूलतः यह कार्यक्रम कक्षा 6 से 12 के बच्चों के बीच

1.गणित सम्बंधित कई प्रतियोगिता आयोजन करना

2. छात्रों को गणित और विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में रोजगार के अवसर विषयों पर परिचर्चा

3.वैज्ञानिकों से वार्ता

करना प्रमुख है. इन कार्यक्रम में किसी छात्रों से कोई पंजीकरण शुल्क नहीं लिया जायेगा. भारत के किसी भी प्रान्त के विद्यालय इस कार्यक्रम में अपने अधिकतम 8 छात्रों का नामांकन करा सकते हैं. छात्रों के रहने और खाने की व्यवस्था मौर्य क्लब के द्वारा निशुल्क कि गयी है. कार्यक्रम के समापन के पश्चात विजयी छात्रों को पुरस्कार भी प्रदान किया जायेगा; साथ ही सभी पंजीकृत छात्र / छात्राओं को सर्टिफिकेट भी दिया जायेगा.

स्पर्धा के नाम –

क)    मॉडल बनाना – इसके लिए छात्र कैंची, गोंद, सफेद कागज , मोम कलर लेकर आयें. विषय और मॉडल बनाने सम्बंधित निर्देश प्रत्येक कक्षा के अनुसार कार्यक्रम स्थल पर ही दिया जायेगा. 

    छात्र अगर चाहें तो अपना गणितीय मॉडल बनाकर खुद भी ला सकते हैं जिसे वहां प्रदर्शित किया जायेगा और 3 मॉडल को पुरस्कृत भी किया जायेगा. 

ख)    पहेली – इसमें छात्र अपने घर से गणित सम्बंधित पहेली बनाकर लेकर आये तथा यह पहेली कैसे काम करती है , की जानकारी के लिए पोस्टर भी लेकर आयें

ग)     कविता / लेख  – कविता/ लेख  आपको दिए गये गणितीय विषय पर कार्यक्रम स्थल पर ही लिखना है

घ)     क्विज :- इसमें दो चरण होंगे पहले चरण में छात्रों को एक परीक्षा से गुजरना पड़ेगा और दुसरे चरण में चुने हुए 6 विद्यालय के छात्र फाइनल खेलेंगे.

नोट:-

1.       छात्रों और अध्यापकों के आने जाने का खर्च उन्हें खुद वहन करना होगा. लड़को और लड़कियों के लिए अलग- अलग ठहरने का प्रवंध रहेगा.

2.       कविता, कहानी, मॉडल के विषय वहीं निर्धारित होंगे . क्विज के लिए अंग्रेजी में दिए गये विषयों कि तैयारी अवश्य करें

3.       14 वे और 15 वे गणित प्रतियोगिता जो 2020 और 2021 में हुई थी के सभी पुरस्कार प्राप्त शिक्षकों  को कार्यक्रम में आमंत्रित किया जाता है , उन्हें यहाँ पुरस्कार प्रदान किया जायेगा.

प्रत्येक वर्ष रामानुजन क्लब भारत के विभिन्न विद्यालयों में कार्यरत 6 शिक्षकों को पुरस्कार प्रदान करती है. साथ ही गैर सरकारी संस्था , सरकारी संस्था , विद्यालय , महाविद्यालय , विश्वविद्यालयों में कार्यरत शिक्षकों के लिए रामानुजन और आर्यभट पुरस्कार भी प्रदान करती है.

3. It is heartening to know that Janki Ammal (Ramanujan's wife) had to write a letter to Robert Aksey to do a favour to her to have a bust of him. It took more than 35 long years and intervention of world level mathematicians to collect fund for the bust.
